FAQs

Is there a minimum length of stay?

Yes, during low season it is a 2-night minimum stay and during high season, a 3-night minimum stay, starting on a Monday or Friday. However, please feel free to enquire about single night stays as sometimes we do have space in the calendar to accommodate.

What time is check-in/check-out?

Check-in is from 3.30pm (latest 8.30pm) and check-out is 10am.

How many people do the tents sleep?

Each bell tent can sleep up to 5 and must not exceed this number. This includes 2 people sharing a king-size bed and 3 further single camp beds. A camp bed can be exchanged for a travel cot. We will ask you your requirements at booking and set up the tents accordingly.

Can I stay if I’m under 18?

No, if you are under 18 years old you will have to be accompanied by an adult over 25 years old.

Is there parking on site?

Yes, there is a parking area next to the meadow with one space allocated per bell tent.

Are day visitors allowed?

Yes, but there is restricted parking. Please let us know and we will see if we can accommodate. There will be a £5 charge per car if we are able to.

Are dogs allowed?

We are dog lovers so this was a hard decision, but for the comfort of all our guests we do not allow dogs on site. Exceptions can be made for exclusive hire of the whole site.

What do I need to bring?

We want to take as much hassle out of your holiday as possible. All you need is a towel, food and toiletries! Comfortable and warm bedding is provided, plus extra blankets (excluding for cots) and we even provide the adults with an eye mask and ear plugs for an even better night’s sleep!

There’s plenty of cooking equipment in the kitchen, a fridge-freezer, microwave, oven, free tea and coffee and a well-stocked games cupboard. You might want to bring foil, kitchen roll and cling-film.

There’s also a washing machine and racks to save the piles of washing when you get home (please bring washing tablets/powder though).

We’ll also provide you with a bag of logs and kindling, and if you run out, you can buy more on site.

How are the tents lit?

Tents have solar-powered lighting and rechargeable battery powered lanterns. Please remember to turn them off when not needed and to charge them in the kitchen regularly.

How do we cook?

You choose! Each bell tent has its own BBQ and fire pit (though the latter are better suited for marshmallow toasting rather than anything else!). Fires must be managed by the camper and extinguished at the end of the evening. Never take the BBQ or fire pit into the bell tent. There are fire points around the site. The kitchen also has an oven with hobs and a microwave.

Remember, you can pre-order our delicious BBQ, breakfast and deli hampers in advance.

If you’d rather skip cooking altogether, then there are plenty of local restaurants or take-away options.

What can I buy on site?

You can buy additional logs, coal, kindling and firelighters on site. Just give us a call on 07973 826353 if you need them. We also have an ‘honesty’ cupboard with food staples and mini toiletries.

What’s in the communal kitchen?

We provide everything you need for cooking purposes, including crockery, plastic kids plates and bowls, cutlery, sauce pans, utensils, kettle, toaster, microwave and even the kitchen sink!

We also provide basics such as tea, coffee, salt, pepper, olive oil and sugar.

Do I need to clean up?

Yes please! Please clean and tidy as you go to ensure the site remains pleasant for all guests – this includes the kitchen, bathrooms and communal tent. We would be very grateful if you could wash up and put away all kitchen items along with any items such as games and magazines at the end of each day. If you have time, it would be very helpful to strip your beds before you check-out. Please don’t forget to zip-up the door behind you!

How do I charge my phone?

The kitchen has a number of charging units with 2 USB points which you may take to your tent. Simply bring your charger cable and plug in. Please remember to switch off when not in use to save power, and return them to the kitchen when you’ve finished with it. There are also electrical sockets in the kitchen.

Is there phone signal or wifi on site?

There’s no WiFi on site, but you should get a strong 4G and phone signal. If you are having problems and need to make an important or urgent call, you’re welcome to use our house phone.

Is there electric hook up available?

We do not have electric hook up for tents or campervans.

Can I order a supermarket delivery to the site?

Yes, that’s fine. Please ask the driver to park in the car park and collect the delivery from there.

Is there open water on site?

There is no open water. There are ditches on the perimeters of the meadow, beyond the tall grass and tree line, so little ones shouldn’t roam past the short grass areas.

Is music allowed on site?

Yes, we allow an acceptable level of music which will be judged by our site manager. There is a quiet policy between 9pm-8am, with no noise after 11pm.

Is there a quiet policy?
